Medical Nail Spa
I have been asked many times where a patient should go to have a pedicure. Patients who are diabetic and have decreased circulation are advised to avoid pedicures because of possible risks. There are so many patients who really want a pedicure but are scared because of diabetes, health and also fungus and germs. This is why I decided to open up a Medical Nail Spa.
What is a Medical Nail Spa and what is involved?
When a customer arrives, they will be escorted to a sanitized pedicure chair. This is in a private setting. You are the only customer. You don’t have to worry about lots of people staring at your feet.
Our foot bath is jet-less. This is because the jet tubes can often be contaminated with bacteria from skin and nails. The foot bath uses a hard plastic liner which is single-use and disposed of after each client. It is wonderful, warm and vibrates the water.
All our disposable instruments, such as files, are single-use and also discarded after each use. Our lotions and scrubs, which smell heavenly, are in individual containers to help avoid cross contamination. Your feet and legs will feel wonderful after you leave!
The instruments are triple cleaned. First they are washed, then soaked in Barbicide and then autoclaved in surgical pouches to 270 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 min. This is the same way surgical instruments are sterilized!
The sterilized pouch will be opened in front of you to note the sterilization indicator which ensures sterilization.
I will be the on-call podiatrist and available most of the time. This service is not covered by insurance.
Please bring flip-flops and have old polish removed if possible.
